Harpersfield Township, Ohio – (June 20, 2008) – The honors for Ohio wines continue to pour in. Ferrante Winery’s 2006 Signature Series Riesling Golden Bunches (Grand River Valley Region) was awarded the Chairman’s Award at the 2008 Riverside International Wine Competition, while the 2006 Vidal Blanc Ice Wine earned a Double Gold Medal at the 2008 Taster’s Guild International Wine Competition.
“We are extremely pleased that our wines were so highly thought of,” said Nick Ferrante, head winemaker. “Ohio wines continue to do well in international competitions and we’re proud to be part of it.”
Other Ferrante wines were also well received at the competitions. The 2005 Cabernet Franc Ice Wine was awarded a gold medal at TGIWC and silver at RIWC, and Ferrante’s 2006 Series Chardonnay took gold at TGIWC.
